rainbow(in GZ)
Guangzhou is not a clean city, not only the roads but also the high above sky, but it suddently had a rainbow hanging up there yesterday, though not as beautiful as what we saw on television or somewhere else, the surprise of seeing it would be unforgettable in our temporary residents' mind.
It happened after the attack of a strong typhoon named pearl, the influence of which here in Guangzhou, compared to other cities', was not that strong, and it brought us the "benifits", that is, the cherished rainbow.

Around 19:00 yesterday, we were annoyed and disturbed by some shouts coming from the distance which later we found out was from the students living in the 13th building. Nearly every balcony was full of students, they peering out of their heads to a same direction, some even pointing out like there was something extraordinary and surprising, just appearing in a jiffy. But when i turned my head, i only found a rainbow, incomplete, feeling a little bit disappointed, because i was supposed to see something even more shocking, like UFO...All in all, and beyond any doubt, it was worth looking.^.^
I have been living here for nearly 3 years, quite getting used to the way of being informed by shouts or catcalls or music produced by students nearby. I find that college students in some degree are lonely or boring; they would be glad to see something out of routine and when there comes a way to express dislikes they would grasp it tightly, to release the feeling of anger or discomforts that bear in heart not long before, in Chinese 借题发挥。So even if the event is a trifle, they would try to make it big, bigger than it should be and slower than it is ought to end. No wonder why many people regard a college as an ivory tower; it is a cage i should say, for refraining students from finding their natures and enjoying themselves, trapping in a suppressed condition. That's the reason for i hoping to get out of school and find some part time jobs in the society, in order to breath in some different air to refresh myself.

rename??protest!!!
i heard that my hometown---Shunde was obliged to change its name!how terrible the news is!! and it's a great shock to me!!
since Dec 19th, 2002, Shunde having been annexed to Foshan, which is now Shunde belongs to, it was forced to change all its original names, including newspaper--from Shunde Newspaper to Zhujiang Business Paper in 2004/7/29, as well as the TV station changed hand-in-hand. it seems that Shunde was gradually losing itself, losing its history, and the strength or compassion to carry on... when it came that Shunde had to change these two belongings plus some sign-names changing in the street, like from Shunde City to Shunde District, local people not felt so strong as now that Shunde have to change its birth name to Fengcheng, they just a little bit sorry about that, because they knew they were not governors, they have no right to stop it, and at some degree it was not so significant in changing just two media brand names. But now, to change its birth name is such a big deal, how can they do this, do this to our local residents?? just like we are divested of our coat, how can we be deprived of our names??? terrible...why those governors have the heart to do so??? as soon as i got know of this news, which is still hung in the air, i can't suppress my anger any more!!
hope there are some turning backs!otherwise, protesting in the street is not that unattainable even in China-- a so-called democratic country by itself!
some background links:
The opening-up to the outside world has brought about Shunde an economic development in a steady, fast and healthy way; many foreign enterprises has come to invest here that brought Shunde a big change. But after the absorption, tens of thousands of companies(exaggeration) withdrew from Shunde, mainly because of the increasing taxes.Foshan said it would provide a favorable environment for Shunde to develope its economy, but is the trueth really like that???we don't think so... an district economic expert related, "in order to expand its civilization, many developed districts like Shunde and Nanhai were divided into the territory of Foshan. That should take the responsibility for the low economic growth of (poor, i add:))Shunde."
at present, the city of Foshan includes five districts, that is Chancheng, Nanhai, Shunde, Sanshui and Gaoming. And Foshan became the third biggest city in Guangdong province, following Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with a population of 2.990.000 and an area of 3813 square kilometres.

what a tragedy!
Actually, it's not my first blog; only these days, i want to have some change no matter in what way, so now i choose the easiest and the most convenient--set up a new blog, i think, besides that aim, i just hope to say something, something that for myself or my mind, or even others...like yesterday...
as a journalist student, we always care for news that happened around us, and last night, when no one knew what had happened, a car accident in fact had taken place in that road that we students always passed, to the bus that we often took on, all of them were so familiar to us, so familiar that we cannot break ourselves away... shock, frightened, moved, sad, wordless were part of our reponds...
the tragedy was between a bus and a big car carring plaster(i don't know what's its english name), the bus no.864 and the big car yellow, full of passengers in the bus and just 1 in the big car. Evidences showed us it was the yellow car's driver's fault, because he overspeeded the car and side-collaspted into our innocent city bus! faster than light travels, 30 passengers were injured, 6 ghosts were forced to say goodbye to the world, without the privilege to know what was going on..............

these were the passengers who took a bus, so close to you at a time...
sometimes i just can't help myself thinking, is it god's will?? do people's fates have been determined when they are born?? they were innocences, they were citizens, without doublt, they did nothing wrong, the only thing they did on the bus were just heading for their warm houses,or their working places, or shopping...striking to live on earth!! why they had to take this fate?! why their lives were so short!!why that damn driver not abide to driving rules?! why he was so selfish!! hard to think...hard to recall...
if you were those who drive the car faster than legal requirements or neglect traffic lights all the time, please, supposed youself were the passengers on that 864 car...if you don't care the life-span of yourself, please, please care for others...because they still have the right to go on...
let's pray together, for those victims...
